Jamie's Farm

Transforming the lives of young people who are not thriving in school or society

Jamie’s Farm's transformational programme supports children at risk of social and academic exclusion to thrive during their school years and beyond. Their programme sees small groups of young people immersed into farm life during a week-long residential, tackling real jobs with tangible outcomes within a supportive family environment.

Why we support Jamie’s Farm

An estimated 850,000 young people in the UK are at risk of social or economic exclusion and 45% of disadvantaged students are not achieving expected grades in key subjects at school. Many young people face serious mental health challenges which can present as poor behaviour or increasing levels of absenteeism. Once problems become entrenched, young people are less likely to succeed in school or employment. The costs to each person and the wider society from failing to intervene properly at an early stage are immense, both on a human and financial level.
Jamie’s Farm's 8-week therapeutic programme combining farming, family, therapy and follow-up support is proven to improve young people's behaviour, engagement, wellbeing and essential life-skills, ultimately helping them to re-engage with educational life and fulfil their potential.
