Why we support HILS

Elderly and vulnerable people are often unable to prepare their own meals, or are unable to regularly shop for food leading to poor diets and worsening health. As the UK population ages, these challenges are faced by more people, putting ever greater strain on the NHS. Over the past decade, the meals on wheels services which many relied on have fallen away, and 81% of Local Authorities in the UK no longer have a meals on wheels service.
HILS is now the largest meals on wheels provider in the UK, delivering meals 365 days a year across three counties. By providing a quality, caring service, HILS improves the quality of life as well as the health outcomes for its clients.
